Donating Used Books, Audio Books, CDs, and DVDs to the Library

We accept donations of current books, audio books, music CDs, and DVDs that are in good condition. Please check our Acceptable Donations page for more information on the types of materials we accept. Donations may be added to our collection or are re-homed to library support groups or outside agencies/organizations. Donations will not be returned to the donor. We will provide a receipt for tax purposes, but appraisals for the value of donated materials are the responsibility of the donor.

The Library reserves the right to decide use, condition of display, and final disposition of all donated materials we receive. Donations are considered for acceptance on the same basis as materials for purchase. The cost of processing and the availability of shelf space are also factors in determining the acceptance of gifts.

In Memoriam

To make a donation for the purchase of materials or to donate a specific item for collection review in memory or honor a loved one, contact the library: 703-335-8842; [email protected] Library staff will consult with you to choose an appropriate item. A library plate recognizing your gift will be placed in each item that is added to the Library collection.
