Storytime introduces young children to reading and books.

Each week, our trained library staff and volunteers share stories, songs, and finger-play activities geared to certain ages. Parents learn how to foster six early literacy skills that are critical for preparing their children to read and write. These skills are:

Knowing how to handle a book
Hearing beginning sounds
Knowing letters are different from each other
Retelling stories and events
Introducing new words
Showing a joy of and interest in reading books

PLEASE NOTE: An adult must remain with babies and younger children at storytimes.

Baby Lapsit (Pre-walkers, scheduled every other week)
Babies from birth to walking and their parents/caregivers enjoy great books, lively songs and rhyme. Seating is limited to 5 babies.

Toddler Tales (Walkers-3 years, scheduled every week)
Toddlers and their parents/caregivers enjoy interactive stories and action songs. Seating is limited to 15 children.
